39th Tarehe Sita to be celebrated in Luwero

According to Karemire the area has been chosen to host this year's Tarehe Sita celebrations because of the special historical role played during the 1981-1986 protracted people's struggle to liberate Uganda.

COMMEMMORATION

All is set for the 39th Tarehe Sita Military celebration's anniversary that will take place in Greater Luwero that comprises  Nakaseke, Luwero, Nakasongola, Wakiso and Busiro North.

This was on Monday revealed by UPDF spokesperson Brigadier General Richard Karemire while addressing the media at UPDF headquarters in Mbuya.

According to Karemire the area has been chosen to host this year's Tarehe Sita celebrations because of the special historical role played during the 1981-1986 protracted people's struggle to liberate Uganda.

The celebrations will be held under the theme consolidating the UPDF strategic partnership with the people to guard gains of liberation.

However, during the defence forces week that will commence on the 28th January 2020.

They will conduct a range of civil-military activities in support of the local areas.

The move is aimed at fostering harmony between the forces and the people by working with communities to conduct cleaning of institutions, urban centres, tree planting, engineering works and medical camps.
