The expo will give participants an opportunity to exhibit, learn and buy from hundreds of companies dealing in agro-inputs

Champrisa International Limited has given a chance to piggery and poultry farmers to buy Hendrix concentrate at 25% discount and benefit from its nutritional values during the Harvest Money Expo at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The livestock feeds company is one of the sponsors of the 2020 Harvest Money Expo.

The three-day one-stop agricultural expo will run from Feb 14-16.

The expo will give participants an opportunity to exhibit, learn and buy from hundreds of companies dealing in agro-inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, animal feeds and vet drugs.

Expo-goers will pay sh10,000 per day, while sh20,000 is charged for attending training sessions.

Miria Ankunda, the assistant vet at Champrisa, Hendrix concentrates is manufactured from the Netherlands using state-of-the-art technology to ensure quality that meets the nutritional requirements of chicken and pigs.

"If you are into piggery you should not miss this opportunity to buy concentrate at 25%," she said.

Ankunda said piggery is becoming one of the most attractive farming activities because of its profitability.

She the feed improves the immunity of the birds and animals to minimise expenditure on drugs and mortality rates.

"This minimises losses on the farm thus getting more profits. For lactating sows, it enables them to get breastmilk to feed their piglets, which helps them to grow into healthy and strong pigs. It also helps the sow go on heat much quicker," she added.

Nuru Nazziwa, the operations manager at Champrisa, said for poultry farmers, the concentrate and chick care feed will also be available at the same discount.

"For the layers, the feeds will enable your chicken to lay more eggs for a long time. You will also get big and yellow yolk eggs which will fetch higher prices," she said.

Nazziwa added that for the broilers, they will gain the best weight to fetch the best prices in the shortest time possible.

She said experts from Uganda and the Netherlands will be available to help farmers answers questions.

Farmers will be trained in the basics of poultry and piggery farming.

"We will also have free feed testing services for all farmers who mix their own feeds and feed ingredients such as maize bran. If you want your ingredients to be tested, just come with a sample and we will tell you what is in your feeds," Nazziwa said.

Chris Magezi, the director of Champrisa, emphasised that whoever comes for the expo will get real value for money
