A tough challenge awaits struggling SC Villa as they make a short trip to St Mary's Kitende to face on form table leaders Vipers SC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league today.

Villa that also doubles as the record league champions (16) have so far been given a rude welcome to the second round were they suffered two back to back defeats against Busoga United (1-0) and URA (2-0).

A tie against Vipers, who are seeking to extend their lead (42 points) considering that their fellow contenders and second-placed KCCA (35 points) have had inconsistent performances, is not something Villa would have wanted.

It will be a mountain to climb for Edward Kaziba's charges if they are to pick a win at Kitende like they did last season.

When the two sides met in the first round at Namboole stadium, the contest played under floodlights ended goalless.

After a rioting 4-2 win over bottom-placed Proline on Tuesday at Lugogo, Vipers tactician Edward Golola warned his charges not to underestimate Villa because of the state there in since anything can happen.

"Villa might be struggling but history favors them in this tie. Therefore my boys have got play with that in mind," he stated.

However Villa tactician Kaziba has also sounded confident that they ready to bring down Vipers.

"All our preparations have been aimed at picking three points at Kitende. The belief of the players is good and hope it will be the same on match day," noted Kaziba.

Elsewhere, KCCA who suffered a 2-1 defeat to Bright Stars will be seeking to bounce back when they take on Tooro United at Lugogo while Police who thrashed Express 6-1 in their previous game will play Kyetume in an early kickoff at the same venue.
