Derrick Kakooza and Pius Kaggwa struck a brace each as Police hit Express FC 6-1 in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League match yesterday at Lugogo.

The embarrassing result left Express FC fans baying for the blood of Coach George Ssimwogerere who they accused of incompetence.

It took the intervention of Police to escort Ssimwogerere out Lugogo as the fans demanded that Ssimwogerere should be relieved from his duties.

The defeat was the second loss for Express in the second round following an earlier one, a 2-0 loss to Busoga United in Jinja.

This is not the first time Express fans are calling for Ssimwogerere's sacking as they did it in the first round and last season.

In September last year, when Express lost 2-0 Onduparaka, Ssimu played down the fans' calls to be sacked.

"I have been in his situation for a long time and I have nothing to worry about. Whether am here or not, I will still be myself.

"It will take time to see what they want. They (fans) have been here for years but there are no results. We need to be patient. I have no problem when they chant me because I'm sure if I leave they will do it to my successor," stated Ssimwogerere then.

"Some of the players we have are playing in the topflight for the first time so in the long run, they will make mistakes. They need time to reach the level we want them to be. You can't ask a lot from them at this particular moment since they are young. They will improve with time", he added.

Ben Ocen, and own goal from Peter Mutebi got the other goals for Police while Disan Galiwango picked a consolation for Express at the death.  The victory leaves Police 12th  on the log with 18 points just like 13th  placed Express.

Despite the win, Police Abdullah Mubiru was not impressed with the performance of his players.

"We didn't play at our best though we managed to win. We scored although we didn't use the ball very well. I would have loved to see my team play well and at the same time score", noted Mubiru.

Elsewhere, Brian Aheebwa scored the only goal as Mbarara City beat Wakiso Giants 1-0 in Bombo while Kyetume played to 1-1 draw with Tooro United in Jinja.

At Njeru, home side BUL went down 3-1 to URA with Cromwell Rwothiomio scoring a brace before Said Kyeyune added the other for the tax collectors. Hamis Tibita scored a consolation for BUL.
