The national U-17 Women football team has achieved tremendously in the last four months where they stormed the COSAFA U-17 women championship finals and emerged eventual winners.

They have just been crowned CECAFA U-17 women champions in a tournament the country hosted last month.

Tomorrow Saturday at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo, Coach Ayub Khalifah's team faces Ethiopia in the FIFA U-17 Women World Cup qualifiers first leg of the preliminary round.

After conducting the last training today (Friday) at Lugogo Khalifah has called for a strong scoring margin to complete the task here in Kampala.

"I want a big score margin to be safe, otherwise Ethiopia can turn it around against us in the return leg. So I have urged them to score as many goals as possible to kill the tie here in Kampala," Khalifah emphasized

Because he believes Ethiopia won't be an easy side in the return leg scheduled for January 26 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

"I cannot underestimate Ethiopia, especially at home. Any team at its home ground can be tough," he added.

The victorious side over the two legs shall lock horns with either Tanzania or Burundi in the next round.

Federation of Ugandan Football ‘FUFA recently announced that this game shall not be free like other women games have been.

It was therefore decided that everyone including Federation officials shall pay shs5000, shs20000 and shs50000 for the ordinary, VIP and VVIP respectively.
