"Before someone gets a stamp from you on matters of selling land, first sit them down and advise them on the benefits and losses. You should not only focus on your commission," Bujuuko Parish priest Reverend Fr. Tonny Baale said.

Bujuuko Parish priest Reverend Fr. Tonny Baale, has advised local leaders to be cautious while issuing out stamps to their residents.

This was during the last funeral rites of the late Leticia Nakitto, a former resident, on Saturday

"Before someone gets a stamp from you on matters of selling land, first sit them down and advise them on the benefits and losses. You should not only focus on your commission," he said.

Baale also cautioned the youths to drop the idea of selling land to buy motorcycles, but instead embrace farming, which can generate enough funds from which they can buy the desired motorcycles and also sustain their livelihoods.

"Time spent waiting for passengers in the scorching sun can be much better spent on farming. Rather than you selling the land you inherited, the land can provide you with enough shade for rest even after you buy the motorcycle from the profits," he said.

Baale further advised residents to point out all the local leaders who easily give out stamps whenever they are needed to sell land.
