KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi says the club is ready to offer attractive contract extensions to Allan Okello and Mustafa Kizza in order to keep them at the club.

Mutebi was speaking to members of the press ahead of his team's Uganda Premier league second-round clash with Mbarara City on Wednesday at the StarTimes Stadium.

"It's true that they feel like changing the environment but we don't want to lose them. Remember we have groomed them from our set-up and they have all it takes to be KCCA players," Mutebi said.

"As a club, we are going to give them contract extensions that are worthy, very improved compared to the ones they signed in 2015. We also believe that they will accept them.

"But they are also adults who can now decide what they want.  If they feel what we are offering doesn't measure to their demands. We shall let them go," Mutebi stated on Tuesday.

A vocal Mutebi on the same note advised Okello and Kizza along with other local players to avoid switching from their clubs to international clubs before they are fully prepared to leave.

He noted that the local leagues need competitive and hardworking players something the Ugandans are lacking and lets them down outside the country.

"Another thing I will advise these lads and other players out there is to stop rushing decisions about joining international clubs. First mature, do enough training because those clubs demand a lot which Ugandan clubs don't.  It is one of the reasons why many Ugandan players have failed to stay there for long because they left unprepared, and eventually ended up here," he added.

"I have groomed Okello and Kizza, I know their potential, and I know they are not yet ready. They still have a lot to master to compete favorably out there. But no player shall put KCCA at ransom when I am still the coach of this club. If you feel tired, we let you go," he warned.

He also confirmed that the embattled two stars will miss the Mbarara game due to injuries they sustained while with the Uganda Cranes in the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup that Uganda hosted last year.

These shall be joined on the sidelines by Kezron Kizito and Simon Sserunkuma who were suspended for two months by the coach himself over laziness and lack of commitment to the club.

The good news is the return of young strikers Sadat Anaku and Sam Ssenyonjo.

KCCA is winless in the last five meetings with the Ankole Lions, drawing four, losing one. The last meeting saw them succumb to a 2-1 defeat at Kakyeka in Mbarara.

KCCA FC finished the first round with 32 points, four behind leaders Vipers who are on 36.

Brian Ssenyondo's Mbarara City shall miss the services of Paul Mucureezi who recently crossed to vipers on a free transfer.
