SC Villa started the second round of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on a low note following their 2-0 defeat to URA at Ndejje University on Tuesday. 

The Jogoos who went 13 games unbeaten in the first round could not stop a determined URA side at the Arena of Vision in Luweero.

URA threatened Villa for the larger parts of the game and showed early intent missing many chances earlier on. The tax collectors who were inconsistent in the first round looked a refreshed side compared to the one that played in the first round. 

They fought for every ball, didn't give any possession away and they always looked hungry in the opponent's final third despite taking an early lead through Daniel Isaigi.             

Isiagi scored his first goal for URA since joining from Egypt, a header from skipper Shafik Kagimu's cross in the second minute of the game. 

URA continued to pile more pressure but with Kagimu and Isiagi failing to take their chances in a game that would have seen the tax collectors lead with more goals at half time.

Villa's only meaningful attack was in the last ten minutes of the first half when a good buildup between Ambrose Kirya and David Owori almost had Villa scoring.

The introduction of Michael Birungi in the second half added momentum to the  URA attacking force and it paid off in the 64^th  minute when Birungi tapped in a Joachim Ojera cross.

The victory saw URA remain six on the log with 23 points, 13 points below leaders Vipers. Despite the defeat, Villa remained fourth on the log with 27 points.  This was the first game for URA at Ndejje University since shifting from Namboole stadium over what they termed non-avoidable circumstances.                                         

Elsewhere, the Tooro United and Onduparaka tie that was supposed to be played in Fort Portal didn't take place after both teams didn't have licenses for their players. Home side Tooro had only four of their players' licenses while Onduparaka had only seven.

The league will resumes on Wednesday with defending champions KCCA taking on Mbarara City at Lugogo.  Mbarara won the first leg 2-1.
