Tributes have been paid to Prof. Bwogi Richard Kanyerezi, a senior medical don, and co-founder of Kampala Hospital who passed on last week at the age of 85.
Among those that have eulogised Kanyerezi is President Yoweri Museveni, who spoke highly of his attitude of hard-work and passionate quest for freedom.
The President described Kanyerezi as an intelligent medic, a strategic thinker of sound mind, who taught, guided and mentored many medical professionals.
He also praised him for his enormous contribution to the development of private medical practice.
Museveni's message was delivered by the minister for lands, Beti Olive Namisango Kamya, who represented him during the funeral service at St. Paul's Cathedral, Namirembe, on January 1.
The massively attended service was presided over by the Archbishop-elect, Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, Bishop Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira of Namirembe Diocese and Bishop Emeritus Jackson Matovu of Central Buganda.
Prof. Kanyererezi was laid to rest at his clan's burial grounds in Maya on Masaka Road on January 2.
