The top stories that shook Uganda

Looking back at 2019, one can clearly tell it has been a year of hard work and controversies in the entertainment world.

while some personalities found themselves in the media, others always got a way of starting trouble to attract attention even where it wasn't necessary. Listed are the five top headliners of your 2019.

5. Miss Uganda drama
While everyone was waiting for the biggest announcement of who had taken the crown, socialites Zari Hassan and Anita Fabiola chose to clash. The drama started when Fabiola who was the MC sarcastically called Zari who was one of the judges "mama" as she invited her to announce the Miss Uganda winner.

Zari too "young" to accept the title blasted the MC and assigned her the duty of opening the envelope to which Anita ignored. The mother of five continued as she hit Fabiola's stomach while she dared "gerrit on, gerrit on." All this happened in the presence of the than Miss World Vaness Ponce De Leon and the disappointed audience. After the event, the focus was on the catfight instead of the crowned Miss Uganda Oliver Nakakande.

4. The Fresh Family
The year started with a new rapper on the block. It was seven year-now eight-year-old rapper Patrick Ssenyonjo alias Fresh Kid. From Luwero, the young boy was taking the music industry by storm.

Within no time, Fresh Kid had won hearts including that of Minister Nakiwala Kiyingi and he was the talk of the town. It was also alleged that the toddler's energy was backed by drugs until it was proven that his talent is heaven-sent.

His success also brought his father to the limelight, after he got himself a scholarship from the Ruperelia foundation, Fresh Kid's father Mutabazi Paul became his escort as he moved with his team where ever they went.

He also frustrated the Kid's manager to get him an air ticket to Dubai where Fresh Kid was going to perform. Mutabazi later accepted to stay because of the too much pressure from everyone.

The entertainment industry was later blessed with the Mutabazi challenge and before we knew it, he got signed under monster records of musician Khalifa Aganaga as Fresh Daddy and it is from here that he got the courage to start his own saloon.

Unfortunately a few weeks back, Fresh Kid's manager Francis Kamoga was dropped as the young rapper's dad got him a new manager.

3. Pastor Bugingo marriage saga
After 29 years of marriage with Teddy Naluswa, pastor Aloysius Bugingo chose to officially call it quits. He chose presenter Suzan Makula for a life partner. It started with a rumour that Bugingo had a mistress and ended in closed-door court hearings. There was trouble over who owns the church property. His family made headlines a couple of time something that forced different pastors to intervene.

Pastor Bujjingo sued over child neglect

He was later summoned by the police over making estranged comments about his ex-wife. In a video, Bugingo revealed that he had spent 10 of his 29 years in marriage living with his wife's haemorrhage problem. His revelation forced many people in the media and activists to organise protests against Pastor Bugingo.

2. Museveni's musical advisors
It all started with president Museveni gracing band music artiste Catherine Kusasira's tears of a woman concert that happened at Serena hotel in September. Museveni's presence also came with millions of money that he gave to Kusasira. However, that was not all as Kusasira was later considered for the position of presidential advisor on Kampala affairs a position that took her to the moon.

Catherine's appointment saw the president going deep in the ghetto world where he got faded musician Mark Bugembe aka Butcherman and appointed him as his advisor on ghetto affairs.

Jennifer Nakangubi alias full figure was also appointed as the presidential envoy on matters of the youth and artists. she also won herself a fully furnished office located in Katwe.

1. Rema moving on from Kenzo
In September, social media was paraded with pictures of songbird Rema and her hubby Hamza Ssebunnya. The talented musician had given life to her Siri muyembe song as she was set to introduce her man to her parents and the world at large.

It was first believed to be a stunt for the online inlaws who wished a happy ending for Kenzo and Rema as they thought that there music couple was trying to set things straight.

Rema's love for Hamza brought mixed reactions within the fans and also saw Kenzo penning down an emotional message on FaceBook. The poor guy became a motivational speaker until when he finally broke down and asked for governmental help. His wish was granted as he later met President Museveni.

As for Rema, she introduced the bridal shower for the brides to be and with no doubt held the introduction ceremony of the year.
