He was whisked away to his official residence in Nalumunye, Katale where he changed into the official graduation regalia and then dined and addressed his subjects.

In his speech, the Bugwere cultural leader spoke about power struggles in his Kingdom where a rival group is allegedly plotting to usurp his power. The king promised to meet with the rival group and resolve the impasse that is designed to destabilized the Kingdom.

"My appeal to those who want to usurp my power is to understand the nature of Bugwere Kingship. It's elective and open to any clan leader. But those who claim to have the royal entitlement should wait to be voted into power," Ikumbania said in strong tone. He promised to hold a big graduation fete in Budaka, Bugwere after his official trip to China where he is scheduled to meet with Chinese investors

Eric Kasolo, the Kingdom prime minister spoke about the king's achievement. "Attaining this honorary doctorate means that the King's efforts in humanitarian work have been well deserving and it should be celebrated in the Kingdom," he told the Bagwere subjects.
