President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today offically launched "SIMI mobile" a phone  assembling plant in Namanve. Apart from Phones, SIMI Mobile also assembles laptops that are sold on the market. 

Museveni has this year alone commissioned over 30 factories.

The Government has inaugurated the new surveyors Registration Board. The nine member committee is comprised of Judy Rugasira Kyanda, the chairperson, Dr. Moses Musinguzi the deputy, Fiona Nanozi, Irene Laker Kitara, Wilson Sendiwanawa, Barbara Mugenyi, Gilder Kaermundu, Duncan Tayebwa and Wilson Ogara.
 
The minister of lands Betty Amongi presided over the function. She appealed to the Board to help the Government get rid of quack surveyors. Amongi assured the board members of the government's support.

After a heavy downpour, early morning today downtown in Kampala, business was interrupted. Business in Owino market and Kisenyi came to a standstill.
