Shafik Kiwanuka had a busy and productive week as the countdown to his hugely-anticipated Africa heavyweight championship with Thamsanqa Dube continued.
Yesterday, the rising heavyweight hosted an American friend and fellow student International University of East Africa (IUEA) student at his training gym at Centenary Park.
"He's called Brian and he came by to encourage me and check on my fitness and stuff," Kiwanuka told New Vision Sports.
"Brian knows a lot about boxing and he was impressed with my readiness. This has been a great week and I'm ready for the fight".
In addition to launching his fight at the New Vision head offices on Wednesday, Kiwanuka made a promotional appearance on the same day at IUEA in Kansanga that moved the campus.
"It was nice to train with Hassan Alwi, and the chancellor of IUEA, and my promoter Sam Buchanan," Kiwanuka explained. It gave me morale for the fight."
Kiwanuka will battle Dube on November 29 in the IUEA auditorium.
