Ugandan referees appointed for 2021 AFCON qualifiers

Africa soccer governing body Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Ugandan match officials to be in charge of the upcoming AFCON 2021 qualifier between Botswana and Algeria.

The highly anticipated tie will be played on November 18 at Botswana National Stadium, Gaborone in Group H. Zambia and Zimbabwe are the other two countries that makeup Group H in the qualifiers.

Ali Chelanget Sabila will be in charge of the match as the center referee and he will be assisted by Lee Okello and Isa Masembe as the first assistant and second assistant referees respectively.

William Oloya who was in charge when Vipers defeated Wakiso Giants 1-0 in the local league on Tuesday will be the fourth official of the game.

Manuel Inacio Candido from Angola shall be the match commissioner while Lesotho's Seth Seth Lebaka Rethusitsoe is the referee assessor.

The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations host, Cameroon, will participate in the qualifiers with the team already guaranteed a spot in the finals regardless of its ranking in the group. Their matches and results will count in determining the qualification of the other teams from their groups.
