One arrested after delivering unsealed exam envelops

The Police immediately intervened and arrested the man and he recorded a statement at Mpigi Police Station

One person has been arrested by the Police in Mpigi over theft of Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) that got underway on Monday.

According to the Police spokesperson for Katonga region, Joseph Tulya, the suspect has been identified as Samuel Musumba Musisi who was working as a distributor of Uganda National Examinations Board papers to schools.

Musisi was arrested after a tip by the administration of Mpigi UMEA Primary School, a government primary school located in Mpigi town council after mathematics papers delivered to the school were found to be unsealed.

The Police immediately intervened and arrested Musisi and he recorded a statement at Mpigi Police Station.

He was however released on Police bond after it was found out that many of the envelopes containing exams were poorly sealed with some half-open.

At the Police station, 37 Social Studies papers that pupils sat for in the afternoon were found to be poorly sealed.

According to Tulya, they released Musisi and redeployed him after the discovery of similar cases.
