The evil that is the proposed Religious Policy

An Evangelist whose sole desire is to win souls to Christ wherever and whenever he can get the opportunity will be at the mercy of a Muslim RDC who will have the power to recommend the evangelist or write him off as a nuisance and noisemaker.

OPINION

I did mechanical engineering at campus for four years and actually graduated with excellent results.

I, however, have no right to call myself an engineer or use the title Eng. before my name because I am not a registered engineer with the Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers and the Engineers Registration Board.

The process of registration is no easy feat and it is no wonder that the number of registered engineers in Uganda is still as low as 1400 compared to over 8000 unregistered engineers. Here's a list of the minimum requirements for one to become a registered engineer:

● A Degree, Diploma or License of a university or school of engineering recognized, by the board as furnishing a sufficient guarantee of adequate academic knowledge in engineering;

● At least two years of training as a pupil engineer after graduation, under the supervision of a registered engineer;

● A further two years working experience in a position or positions of some responsibility, again under the supervision of a registered engineer;

● Corporate membership of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE);

● The applicant must have attained the age of 25 years;

● Submission of the acceptable application form, career report and technical report.

After one has submitted their technical and career report, a committee has to sit and decide whether they do qualify to be registered or not. Some people wait a year, sometimes two years before they finally get approved for registration.

Now imagine a process similar to this being applied to matters of faith and spirituality. A process that ensures that no one holds the title of prophet, apostle, teacher, evangelist or pastor without being vetted by a committee set up for that purpose.

The difference is that whereas in matters of professions, like engineering, one is judged by men and women that are experts in the preferred field.

But with the religious policy, a prophet that believes in dreams, visions, and trances will be left at the mercy of a priest that has neither had a vision nor ever received a message from God in a dream to determine whether the prophet is a false or true one.

An Apostle that believes in supernatural healing and divine health will be at the mercy of a reverend who believes that the only healing that God does today is the kind that comes through a medical doctor's prescription.

An Evangelist whose sole desire is to win souls to Christ wherever and whenever he can get the opportunity will be at the mercy of a Muslim RDC who will have the power to recommend the evangelist or write him off as a nuisance and noisemaker.

Needless to say, the scales of justice will be very unbalanced. And that is not all. Should one be lucky enough to get through all these registration stages and start a fellowship or church, whatever he/she preaches will have to conform to the pre-approved doctrines that are not offensive to whichever committee that will be in charge.

It won't matter that the Holy Spirit is leading you to teach your flock about divine health and healing, you will instead have to teach them that the avenue of healing that God has provided for us is only through medicine. It won't matter what the Word teaches about divine provision, prophecy, giving, tithing and pretty much any topic; as long as it doesn't conform to the set doctrines, you will not be allowed to preach it.

This is a call to the Church; specifically, the Born Again Church (by now, you should know it is the primary target): a call to you that understands the workings of the Holy Spirit, that understands that theology degrees and PhDs do not make Men of God but rather the weight of the anointing of God upon them. You that understands that the workings of God have never been logical or made scientific sense. You understands that the Church of an infinite, eternal God should and must not be subject to a finite, impermanent State. You that understands that the Church has been called to a position of dominion and rulership in all spheres.

You that knows that this policy is not intended to ‘weed out bad elements' as is being sold to the masses but that it is actually an evil plan hatched from the very pits of hell, meant to curtail the move of God in this nation. This is a call for you to get up and resist the RFBO policy with all you've got in you, knowing exactly what is at stake should this policy ever see the light of day.
