SC Villa's Bashir Mutanda was among the nominees

The CAF Champions League was another stage for coach Mike Mutebi's guns to showcase their class after scoring the 3-1 wins over Namibian side African stars to advance to the next round where they, unfortunately, lost the contest to Petro de Luanda on an away goals rule to progress to the Confederation Cup playoff round.
