Despite the fact that Petro de Luanda subjected KCCA FC to a sharp test when the two sides clashed in Luanda in the first round of the CAF Champions league earlier this month, Coach Mike Hillary Mutebi is full of confidence that his side will eliminate the visitors and qualify for the group stages.

"We are going to be subjected to a stiff challenge, Petro de Luanda is a well-organized side, like their neighbors Premiere de Augusto, but I believe given our home record and preparations we made, we shall better them and qualify," Mutebi promised.

Given the away goals rule, the Ugandan champions cannot afford to settle for a draw involving goals and will thus need to be disciplined in defence and a win is a must in today's battle.

Meanwhile, the visitors will fancy scoring an away goal and probably any draw involving goals will send them through to the group stages.

Toni Casano, Petro de Luanda coach, slammed the claims of KCCA FC having home advantage over his team saying that Petro plays the same way whether at home or while away.

"We came here to win, yes, we settled for a goalless draw in Luanda something we had not planned for but here we shall play and win regardless of being an away ground", Tactician Casano vowed.

Mutebi's team eliminated Namibia's African Stars on a 3-2 aggregate in the preliminary round over two legs last month to advance to this stage.

KCCA FC is looking forward to qualifying for the group stages of the competition for the second time in three seasons.

KCCA FC last played in the CAF Champions' League group stages in 2018 and they were placed in group A alongside Club Africaine, Fusu Rabat, and Rivers United. They finished third after six games.
