Sadat Anaku called up by Byekwaso for CECAFA U20

Striker Sadat Anaku is part of the final 20 man squad named by head coach Morley Byekwaso for the CECAFA U20 tournament that gets underway this weekend.
 
Anaku was part of KCCA FC starting eleven that played to a goalless draw with Petro de Luanda in Angola during the CAF Champions League first round and his CAF experience will be crucial to the national side.
 
His inclusion in the U20 was not a surprise because of 83 goals he has scored in the last three editions of the FUFA Junior league tournament.
 
The youngster who was among the six players from KCCA FC Soccer Academy promoted to the senior team has proven his worth and is ready to do the same with the national side
 
The two weeks CECAFA competition will run from September 21 to October 8 for the first time after eight years.
 
Gulu and Jinja towns will host the tournament sponsored by world football governing body, FIFA.
 
Hosts Uganda has been placed in Group A with Sudan, Eritrea, and Djibouti, while Group B will comprise of Kenya, Zanzibar, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. Group C has Burundi, South Sudan, and Somalia.
 
Group A matches will be played at Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu, while group B and C are to have their matches played at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
 
The Hippos (Uganda U20 side) who have been in camp at FUFA Technical Centre, left for Gulu today ahead of their opening game against Eritrea on Saturday.
 
Proline midfielder Bright Anukani who traveled with the Cranes team for African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Burundi will join the team when he returns.
 
Sudan and Djibouti are the two countries that have so far arrived for the competition. The other eights are expected later today.
 
Uganda won the past two editions of the tournament staged in 2006 and 2010 in Tanzania and Eritrea respectively.
