Aid: US provided sh3.8 trillion to Uganda in FY2018

DIPLOMACY

KAMPALA - Ambassador Deborah Malac on Tuesday gave a scorecard of America's aid assistance to Uganda, revealing that the US provided $896m (sh3.3 trillion) to Uganda in the financial year 2018.

Malac launched the report at the American Centre in Kabalagala in the capital.

"Our assistance looks to realise a better economic future for the next generation by strengthing one of the largest sectors of the country's economy - agriculture," she said.

"Our assistance programmes improve productivity, create jobs and increase revenues for farmers and agricultural companies."

Since 1962, the US government, under USAID, has rendered support to Uganda, especially in the areas of health, education and environment.
