Volleyball: Nemostars, Nkumba dominant

The second round of the UVF National Volleyball League always magnifies the start of the second round and this weekend the contenders for the play off places showed the hunger.

Men's defending champions Nemostars were on song as they swept all three of their opponents during the weekend's action.

They defeated Lira, KCCA and Nkumba Navy to take all three wins with only KCCA able to take a set off of them.

On Saturday they could only get one match in due to a downpour in Mukono, but as usual Andrew Okapis' side know when to take their performances up a notch.

Defending ladies champions KCB-Nkumba A also performed out of their skins taking three wins out of three by defeating Nkumba B on Saturday and they followed that up with wins against KAVC and Espoir VC on Sunday at the university campus.

With the league off for yet another weekend the washed out matches will hold their own power as those that have a chance to qualify for the play offs have to work their socks off.
