Over 200 female golfers expected at Uganda Golf Club Ladies Open

The second edition of the Uganda Golf Club Ladies Open will attract up to 230 female golfers this year as some of Uganda's best golfers battle for supremacy.

Ugandan Irene Nakalembe is the defending champion and she is expected to lead the charge as the ladies prepare for the Uganda Open which is only a week away.

"Last year was our first year hosting and we expect an even greater turnout. The defending champion is our very own Irene Nakalembe and we expected this to be a test for the ladies ahead of the Uganda Open," Uganda Golf Club Ladies captain Anne Abeja said.

They will give away up to 22 prizes including gadgets and vouchers while tournament co-sponsors Tusker Malt and Gofan promise a unique golfing experience for those who will attend.

The competition will tee off on Thursday and will run up to Friday while on Saturday, there will also be a grand gala dinner and an awards ceremony on Saturday with a gold and black theme.
