Uganda national junior side defeated Jinja SSS U17 3-0 in a buildup match for CECAFA Under-15 Challenge Cup to be held in Eritrea later this month.
 
Travis Mutyaba, Abbasi Kyeyune, and Abdul Nsereko each had a goal for the national side.
 
The team that is undergoing training at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru under the guidance of Jackson Magera is placed in Group B of the competition with Ethiopia, Rwanda and South Sudan and they are among the favorites to win this championship.
 
Group A has Eritrea, Kenya, Burundi, and Somalia while C consists of Tanzania, Sudan, and Djibouti.
 
Eritrea last hosted a CECAFA tournament in 2010 during the Under-20 Challenge Cup. The new tournament to be sponsored by the "FIFA Forward Programme" initiative, will be the first under-15 tournament to be staged in Africa.
 
The tournament will also help the region to prepare for the Under 17 AFCON qualifiers that start early next year.
