WAKISO - The State Minister for Finance and Economic Development, David Bahati has urged pastors and religious leaders to follow the principles of marriage rather than destroying the institution.

"Marriage is an institution of God, the first marriage was that of Adam and Eva. In marriage, you should stay together in sickness and health and you should love and cherish it," he said.

Bahati who was officiating at the 30th anniversary of Pastor Aaron and Justine Mutebi of Entebbe Miracle Centre in Entebbe, Kitoro over the weekend told the congregation that they should follow the example of their pastor and keep their marriage despite the challenges they face.

Earlier during his sermon, Prof. Simoen Kayiwa of Namirembe Christian Fellowship told believers that the couple has kept their relationship for the future and their children.

Kayiwa tipped believers on how to maintain their marriage by keeping their problems to themselves.

"What has kept us together is that when things go wrong, we ignore and go on. When a glass breaks in the house, we throw it away and don't blame others. We do not have anyone to judge us, we solve our issues," Kayiwa said.

He told the believers that marriage is a pastoral pledge, which married couples make with God.
