Clock Tower flyover construction starts

According to Allan Sempebwa, UNRA’s spokesperson, the flyover exercise that started along the project area from clock tower through Nsambya Junction to Mukwano Soap Factory will not affect the flow of traffic.

FLYOVER INFRASTRUCTURE

KAMPALA - UNRA yesterday started onsite clearing of ground for the construction of the first half a kilometer long clock tower flyover in Uganda's business capital Kampala.

According to Allan Sempebwa, UNRA's spokesperson, the flyover exercise that started along the project area from clock tower through Nsambya Junction to Mukwano Soap Factory will not affect the flow of traffic.

The Japanese government through its overseas development agency, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), is funding the Kampala Flyover Construction and road upgrading project (KFCRUP) to a tune of 300billion Uganda Shillings and the project is expected to be completed within 3years.

On completion, the flyover will reduce congestion and traffic making it easier for people to reach their workplaces, especially in the morning and homes in the evenings.
