Pastor Sseggane launches Beauty in the Cracks

Pastor Sarah Sseggane of Omega Healing Centre has launched a book titled Beauty in the Cracks.

The author explains about God's redemptive love and power through a life of naivety, self-will, confusion, brokenness, failure and pain to a life of healing and the birthing of divine purpose in her book.

This was during the launch of her book at dinner held at Fairway Hotel in Kampala.

"Life is full of cracks; cracks resulting from our uninformed personal choices, and cracks from the choices of those we love. Whatever the cause, cracks have the ability to leave indelible marks of shame, guilt, regret, grief, worthlessness, humiliation, insecurity, emptiness, and reproach," Sseggane who is a Pastor at Omega Healing Centre told guests.

Sseggane the first time writer narrates that she had big dreams which were unfortunately shattered by her life choices which made her an easy target of the enemy in her late teens.

She said the enemy wreaked havoc all around her turning life of love and favour into one of hostility, impediments, and reproach.

The author told guests that through heart brokenness she encountered God and found meaning in the most painful and unexpected events.

During the launch of the book, Pastor Sseggane was accompanied by her husband John Sseggane and there son Lincoln Kizito a student of Vine International Christian Academy.

Senior Pastor Micheal Kyazze of Omega Healing Centre told guests that God's provident hand was upon Sseggane to tell her story frankly and God is going to use her to minister to others who have been heartbroken.

The author's book is full of scriptures in the Bible to encourage the broken hearted not to lose hope.

The Parents of the author were shocked over there daughter writing a book wondering how she got the money to publish a book.

"When a child achieves something in life we must be happy as parents but we didn't expect it and she didn't tell us about the book launch. We are surprised and wondering how she managed to write a book," Henry Luyima the father of Sarah Ssegane said.

Luyima a retired civil servant who worked with Kampala City Council than explained that writing a book is a demanding venture which takes account of three stages; manuscript, editing, and publishing.

"All those stages require a lot of financial support. It is a surprise to us. We didn't know how she got a sponsor, this is a blessing from God," the 89-year-old father said.

Luyima was accompanied by his wife Jane Frances Luyima, 67.

"I am happy about Sarah's achievement," Frances Luyima said.

Commenting on Sarah's book Joachim Buwembo Sunday Vision columnist said he was amazed by the author's brutal frankness in narrating her life experience.

"I was ministered to. I learnt alot in form of praying. Many of our prayers are done childishness and selfishness, God I want this," Buwembo told the audience who burst into laughter.

Suzan Nsibirwa a friend to Sseggane praised her for being brave to tell her story.

Rev Canon Diana Nkesega of St Francis Chapel Makerere University Kabanyolo said the book was well written.

"The purpose of the story is not to sympathise  but help you walk along with her asking pertinent questions about life especially in the chapter of unanswered prayer," Rev Canon Nkesega said.

The book is available in all bookshops in the city and at Omega Healing Centre.
