Rugby Cranes tactician Robert Sseguya believes his charges are ready for the challenge against Zimbabwe in the first leg of the Victoria Cup at Legends ground on
Saturday.

The Rugby Cranes welcome the Sables in the revived tournament targeting to revenge last year's 38-18 humiliation in the Gold Cup at Kyadondo Rugby ground.

"The team is good. Everyone has a point to prove and we are going to put up our best fight to achieve our target," Sseguya vowed Wednesday.

"We have a few injuries which are being monitored and the doctors will be giving us the feedback before we take a decision," he added.

Uganda opened their Victoria Cup campaign with a 16-13 victory over Kenya in the first leg but lost the second leg 16-5 at Kyadondo in the opening fixtures that
doubled as the Elgon Cup.

On their part, Zimbabwe thrashed Zambia 39-10 in the first game.

Four countries Zimbabwe, Kenya, Zambia and Uganda compete in the Victoria Cup which saw Kenya winning the inaugural event against Zimbabwe in 2010.

In 2011 Zimbabwe also upstaged Kenya, but the 2012 tournament was cancelled.
