Government to upgrade 62 health centres

The ministry of health is set to upgrade a total of 62 Health Centre IIs countrywide to Health Centre III standard.
 
The upgrade involves expansion of selected health centres through construction of modern facilities including a general ward, improvement of out-patient department, two twin staff houses, VIP latrine, placenta pit, medical waste pit, and general external works.
 
The exercise will be funded by a loan from the World Bank under the Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer Program for Results (IFTPR) programme.
 
The ministry of health has invited sealed bids from eligible bidders for the proposed upgrade of the 62 health centres.
 
According to a notice published in the New Vision on Thursday, bid documents will be issued on Monday (July 29) while pre-bid meeting or site visits are scheduled for August 10. The bid closing date will be September 2.
