The National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches (NFBPC) in Uganda has denounced and disassociated themselves from the controversial House of Prayer Pastor Aloysius Bugingo.

In a letter dated 16, July and signed by Bishop Joshua Lwere, Rev Dr. Simon Emiau, and Bishop Daniel Waddimba, the church leaders feel that Bugingo’s issues have escalated to a level that concerns the Church and the Public.

“Having done our part as believers, brothers, ministers, elders, and leaders in the body of Christ to love, admonish and correct our brother in love but in vain, we hereby denounce and disassociate ourselves from Pastor Aloysius Bugingo’s practices, outbursts, behavior, and doctrine.  henceforth do not recognize his ministry until we see genuine repentance and an acceptable change,” reads the letter.

Last week during lunch hour prayers, Bugingo spilled his wife’s bedroom secrets. He said his wife suffered from fistula and spent 10 years without sex.

According to the letter, different church leaders including Bishop Joshua Lwere, Apostle Alex Mitala, Elder Peterson Sozi, and Bishop Morris Bukenya met and admonished pastor Bugingo to stop using his pulpit and media to settle his family and marital affairs but he has continued to abuse, degrade and shame his Wife-Teddy Naluswa Bugingo.

“We have further learnt that Pastor Aloysius Bujingo is proposing to divorce his wife to marry another, and publicly encouraging others to do so. We want to emphatically state that we strongly condemn what pastor Bugingo is proposing and doing.

As church leaders, we preach and teach marital faithfulness, forgiveness, and reconciliation and we do not condone marital unfaithfulness, immorality, divorce and any doctrine that undermines the sanctity of marriage and family,” said Bishop Lwere.

Unless Bugingo changes his characters, the born again body does not recognise his ministry.

Though the pastors have denounced him, Bugingo works independently and does not recognise nor subscribe to any of the Umbrella organisation that bring together Evangelical and Pentecostal Churches for mutual support and accountability.
