"Find out where you can get the best seeds for the vegetables you want to grow and also find information on how best you can grow them to get good results," she says.

Mubezi notes that it is always good to start with a nursery bed and then transplant later. If not one can also plant directly in the back yard and the vegetables grow.

Mubezi adds that different vegetables need different care, but most importantly the soil must be fertile and also spraying is very important if one is to get results.

She says that even without a backyard, one can plant vegetables in flower pots, jerrycan, sacks or even in old saucepans that you no longer use.

Daisy Katushabe, says that with the right care, vegetables can be planted anywhere, no matter how small space can be.

"The beauty with vegetables is that some mature in three weeks, while others can take up to three months so it is better to deal in a variety so that you start harvesting as soon as possible," Katushabe says

She adds that right from tomatoes, cabbage, dodo, spinach, onions and Nakati among others can do well as long as one cares well for them.

She adds that proper harvesting is important as it allows more vegetables to grow. If you harvest badly, you might damage the plant and it does not give more fruits.
