Sadat Anaku scored the only goal of the match in the 49th minute as KCCA defeated defending champions Azam FC from Tanzania 1-0 on Tuesday evening at Huye Stadium to register their first victory in their ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda.

KCCA played out a 1-1 draw with Bandari FC from Kenya in their first game of the tournament in Sunday.

The win saw KCCA go top of Group B with four points, one ahead of second-placed Azam.

Bandari FC from Kenya and Rwanda's Mukura Victory Sports who settled to 2-2 draw are third and fourth with two and one points respectively.

They will need a point against Mukura Victory Sports in their final group game on Friday to be assured of making it to the quarterfinals.

The Lugogo side that has handed chances to youngsters regularly did the same when the skipper of the club's U19 side Musa Ramathan and Samuel Kato made debuts for the senior side.

The duo was part of the six players coach Mike Mutebi recently promoted to the senior side.

The reigning Uganda Premier League champions are representing the country in the annual competition alongside Proline.

Both sides are using the competition as build up for the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
