KAMPALA - Weatherhead men’s pursuit of reaching that vital point of destiny, winning this year’s Uganda Baati Hockey League remains as valid.

Of course, they are not the only ones on a positive chase with giants Wananchi maintaining a neck-to-neck situation.

The two elite sides are tied on 26 points with Weatherhead, having a game in hand although Wananchi leads the standings by way of goal difference.

However, what brings a sense of uniqueness is that Weatherhead is chasing what could become their third.

They have inculcated a stay-hungry attitude, every point is a breaking point. To be more precise the phrase that you’re as good as your last win makes more sense to them as the second round continues.

At this stage of the contest, you would want to rack up more and more points but then it is not the points you want, it is the points you get.

They will hope to cease the moment when they entertain a rebranded City Lions Saturday at the National Hockey Stadium in Lugogo.

Coach-player Vincent Kasasa has put into words a huge target of “winning all our remaining games”

Put differently, their target says much about their confidence and again an acknowledgment that winning the league requires 100% everything.

Kasasa was very good in their previous game scoring four goals in a solitary 11-1 win over Historicals.

Going into the weekend action, Kasasa and Co. are confidence against The City Lions.

Formerly Simba, City Lions are struggling to keep up with the demands of the league, lurking in the last bottom half of the league. Their previous result was a 2-1 loss to debutants Makarere University.

Seeking redemption at the expense of high flying, Weatherhead is merely seen as a case of hope than expectation.

Meanwhile, with another two rounds of action still to come, it remains to be seen whether two-time champions Weatherhead can last the distance.
