Clive Ssembusi, a Rescue Unit Police officer has confirmed that eight street children were hit by a wall fence belonging to Lohana High school.

Located along Matia Mulumba road in Old Kampala just after the former Pride Theatre, the school fence collapsed on the street kids who were found sleeping along its borders.

The incident happened in the wee hours of the morning, at around 2:30 am.

It is believed that the collapse of the fence could have been due the Sunday evening downpour that might have weakened the fence.

Agaba Albert, a city physical planner with Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), says that a warning had been issued to the school administration asking that the fence be demolished not later June 29 2019. This was after KCCA realised that the property was in bad shape.
