The World Health Organisation (WHO) is going to reconvene the International Health Regulations and Emergency Committee tomorrow (June 14) to determine whether the Ebola outbreak in Uganda constitutes a public health emergency of international concern.

This was revealed today by Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General WHO. He said this will be the third meeting of the committee on this outbreak.

The International Health Regulations (2005) (IHR), is a binding international legal agreement involving 196 countries across the globe, including all the Member States of WHO. Their aim is to help the international community prevent and respond to acute public health risks that have the potential to cross borders and threaten people worldwide.
