Rugunda, Mbabazi and Musoke mourn Prof Nsibambi

Dr. Rugunda, Amama Mbabazi, and Kintu Musoke were consoling the widow Esther Nsibambi, relatives and mourners at the deceased's home in Mengo Bulange, a Kampala suburb.

KAMPALA- The Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda and the former prime ministers have described Prof. Apollo Nsibambi as a true democrat who advocated for justice.

Dr. Rugunda, Amama Mbabazi, and Kintu Musoke were consoling the widow Esther Nsibambi, relatives and mourners at the deceased's home in Mengo Bulange, a Kampala suburb on Thursday.

The former Prime Minister aged 78 died quietly at his home and hundreds of mourners have thronged his place.

Mbabazi said he had known Prof. Nsibambi for the last 40 years and half of the years he worked with him saying he was down to earth.

"He was a great scholar, teacher and for those who passed through his hands, he will remain in their memories," Mbabazi said.

He added that Prof. Nsibambi was a relentlessly disciplined man who kept time when chairing cabinet meetings.

"Uganda is going to miss him and his contribution in politics because the country is stable because of his approach to politics," Mbabazi said.

The former premier Kintu Musoke who was using a walking stick said all good things said about Prof Nsibambi were true.

"He was a very persistent academician and he was an intelligent person," Musoke said.

The Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda said Prof. Nsibambi was a straight forward person and was good at keeping time.
