Among those that spoke highly of Nakakande was Brig Gen. Stephen Kusasira, who praised her for her patience and perseverance. "I salute our sister Nakakande for her patience. As you are aware, we soldiers rarely stay at our homes. We are always away on duty.  Even as of now, our brother Col Tizihwayo is deployed in Juba. Our sister Nakakande has been facing such marital challenges with strength and determination and in the end, she won."

Gilbert Tizihwayo, an in-law, described Nakakande as a woman of attractive character, who also had a beautiful heart and wonderful smile.

Col Dan Tizihwayo said his wife was a strict disciplinarian. He made people laugh when he revealed that at the start of their marriage, he had serious personal weaknesses, but Nakakande did some panel-beating on him and consequently put him right.
