Ankole MPs gift Kadaga with a cow

The cow worth sh2.5m was driven to Parliament parking yard in a truck where the speaker received it.

KAMPALA- Legislators hailing from Ankole sub region western Uganda  recently  donated a long horned Ankole cow to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, with congratulatory messages thanking  God for her recovery.
A total of  30  Legislators  led by  Nathan Twesigye Itungo(Kashari county), Wiberforce Yaguma (Kashari North) Francis Mwijukye (Buhweju), Con. Fred Mwesigye (Nyabushozi county), John Twesigye(Rubirizi), Beatrice Rwakimaari(Ntungomo woman) Jova Kamateeka (Mitooma woman MP) Michael Mawanda (Igara East)   Sheilla Kabaije Mwine (kiruhura woman) Mary Karoro Okurut (Bushenyi Woman),Mwine Mpaka youth MP Western   welcomed and celebrated Kadaga’s return to official duties, amidst ululations.

 According to Intungo the cow is, a sign of welcoming her back from the battle (sickness).
“In Ankole when one goes to a battle and comes back safely , we give one a cow, it will nourish  her with milk ,” Itungo said.
Chanting gospel music praising the lord  for reviving Kadaga’s  life, the MPs gave Kadaga three bunches of matooke,  five liters of milk, honey,  ghee and  soft animal skin signifying a seat of peace.  Rwakimaari said “Ghee and honey will revive your life like a blossoming flower on  a plant.”
The MPs also signed a card signifying love and solidarity for quick recovery from her sickness.
Kabaije said “ We jubilated When we heard that you were back home,  we value the relationship we share with you, you are special,”
Kadaga who was visibly excited by the gifts, moved near the cow where people took pictures and selfies.
Mesmerized, the Kadaga said “Oh My lord I cannot believe this I am overwhelmed by the your love towards me,“
She attributed her recovery to God, saying that during difficult times, she would talk to God.
“I would remind him of the sacrifices I have made and tell him that I do your work. He is a great God who listens. I will continue serving Him,” said Kadaga.
She also called on MPs to continue carrying out their roles and responsibilities. 
"God answered our prayers. Let us continue working so that we can handle the problems in this country because that is why we were elected,” said Kadaga.
