Uganda’s Ivan Nalima and Keisha Kagoro emerged the best golfers as the US Kids Golf Player Pathway Program tournament ended at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort on Easter Sunday.

Nalima topped the boys’ 18-holes, three-day tournament, relegating Kenya’s Kiunjuri Mathu to second place. Other Ugandans Shaka Kariisa and Lawrence Nambale finished third and fourth respectively with Kenya’s Manav Sarit finishing fifth.

In the girls’ category, Kagoro emerged the best ahead of Athier Gier and Kenya’s Riya Vashisht who finished third overall.

Despite producing the top players in the 18 holes tournament, Banza Matsiko in the 6-7 years boys category, the Ugandans could not win the overall Bob Baldassari PGA Cup like they did last year, sharing the overall place on 3 points each.

Uganda won last year’s event 21-17 points but the Kenyans featuring the likes of Malaika Kasio,Kiunjuri Mathu, Manav Sarit, Riya Vashisht, Michelle Tang and Karoki Mathu ensured Uganda were held.

Kenya’s Ashley Gachora and Leela Savla also displayed good skill playing more than three holes each over the three days despite being very young.
