Police officer charged with murder in Mukono

MUKONO - Police officer David Ssali was Thursday charged with the murder of Ronald Ssebulime, whom he allegedly shot dead in Naggalama village in Mukono district.

Ssali appeared before Mukono Grade One Magistrate Mariam Nalugya Ssemwanga.

Resident state attorney Racheal Namutebi told court that Ssali on March 24 murdered Ssebulime while at Naggojje.

Magistrate Nalugya refused Ssali to take any plea before her court, saying he was being charged with a capital offense, yet her court had no jurisdiction.

She remanded him to Luzira Prison until April 30.

Ssali is accused of killing Ssebulime after the State Minister for ICT Idah Nantaba reported to Naggalama Police Division headquarters about suspecting she was being trailed.
