Fresh boost for Kabaka Run

 

 

 

Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has joined corporate companies that have so far made a contribution towards this year's Kabaka Birthday Run.

 

DTB purchased kit worth sh2m during a function yesterday.

 

The run will be held on Sunday.

 

Vision Group Chief Executive Officer Robert Kabushenga handed over the kit to his DTB counterpart Thambi Varghese at the company's headquarters on Kampala Road.

 

"We are proud to be part of Kabaka Birthday Run to fight the sickle cell disease in Buganda region and the country at large," Thambi said after receiving the kit from Kabushenga who is also the organising committee chairman for the run.

 

Kabushenga applauded DTB for continuously supporting the annual run and asked other companies which have not yet made a contribution towards the event to do so.

 

The objective is to help sickle cell patients to get proper medical care so that they live a happy life in their communities.

 

DTB joined companies like Uganda Breweries, Hotel Africana and Post Bank that have so far supported the run.

 

Participants are getting set to take part in the 21km, 10km, and 5km categories. Many said they cannot wait for the event to begin.

 

The kit is on sale at Vision Group head offices in Industrial area, Airtel shops and at the Buganda Kingdom headquarters in Bulange, Mengo.
