Man beheads daughter, dumps body in the toilet

He said the deceased and her father were on Sunday morning sighted together going into the bush to reportedly search for logs for the construction of a pit latrine and returned.

Residents of Ayumbi village in Omoyo parish, Zeu sub-county, Zombo district were left in shock after a man identified as Walter Ocaki slaughtered his six-year-old daughter.

Ocaki is said to have beheaded his daughter only identified as Micparwoth, 6, a primary one pupil of Thonga Primary School after defiling her in his own bed.

Terry Kertho, the chairperson LCIII for Zeu sub-county said that Ocaki buried his daughter's head under his bed together with coins of sh1, 000.

According to Kertho, Ocaki's child who had gone to ease himself found the headless body of the deceased dumped in a pit latrine.

The shocked child immediately alerted other people who pursued and arrested Ocaki as he attempted to run away.

Kertho condemned the act and appealed for justice to prevail, to serve as a lesson to others, adding that murder should not be tolerated in the community.

Rashid Odaga, the village chairperson said the deceased's father was one of the habitual offenders who had just returned from Kakira government prison in Paidha, where he served a sentence for opium smoking.

He said that the deceased and her father were on Sunday morning sighted together going into the bush, in search for logs for the construction of a pit latrine. Both of them we seen returning from the search. 

Odaga said Ocaki had earlier threatened to kill his mother who has since then been living in fear.

"At one point, he picked up a panga and tried to kill his mother, who was saved people who intervened in the matter," he said.

Ocaki who is being investigated is currently being held at the Police station.

According to Abu-Bakar Musiho, the Zombo district police commander, the incident was typical of a child sacrifice given the manner in which it was executed, adding that the suspect will be produced in court this week.

"We have him, and anytime this week, he will be produced in court," He said.
