Golf: Odere, Koowe shine as Uganda Open Tour 2019 is launched

The Uganda Open Tour 2019 teed off at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa in Kigo.

Saturday's golfing activity was the start of a countrywide tour of this 78th edition, with the next edition slated to be at Mbale Sports Ground in eastern Uganda.

The winners of the opening edition were announced at a dinner later in the day.

Charles Odere won the men's overall trophy while Lillian Koowe reigned supreme in the women's overall category. Uganda Golf Club was the winning club.
