Musician Beenie Gunter joins taxi business

The MC of the night, XFM presenter Maritza invited celebrities like TV sports analyst Andrew Kabuura and musician Beenie Gunter (among others) to play games, in which they were tasked to drive imaginary app cars.

KAMPALA - Artiste Beenie Gunter wears his hustle on his sleeves. One glance at him and you can tell that his path to the present glory was riddled with strife.

After years of churning good music that never left the music industry underground, he finally got a breakthrough last year. Through songs like ‘Tubaayo' and his biggest hit song ‘Pon Mi', Beenie Gunter has been enjoying stardom.  He has since been performing at almost every big event across the country.

Yet, if an event organised by Transport Company; Taxify last week is anything to go by, it seems the money he makes is not enough. At the event held at Skyz Hotel Naguru, Beenie Gunter was introduced as one of the new cab drivers as Taxify rebranded to a new name ‘Bolt'.

During the game, the attendants, a select pool of celebrities, social media influencers and thought leaders got a chance to order Bolt rides, which were driven by the celebrities.

During their rides, they were allowed to get up close and personal, especially by asking the celebrities driving them questions about their lives.

The cocktail setting function had musical performances, but was also a chance for the attendants to network and mingle with the celebrities.
