For a longtime now, MV Kalangala has been known as the main vessel that makes daily trips to Kalangala.
However, this recently changed when Nyanza green water ways launched the brand new MV Vanessa last Friday at Water Front Beach in Entebbe.
The all-white 54-seater vessel was launched amidst a colorful event that saw tourism gurus like Amos Wekesa and Uganda Tourism Board CEO Lilly Ajarova gracing the event.
Before the official launch, Motocross champion Maxime Van Pee who is also one of the owners of the boat started by thanking Ugandans for embracing MV Vanessa and for supporting tourism. Van Pee also promised world class services on this boat to those who will use it.
The boat will be taking passengers to Jinja and Kalangala twice a day. The journey from Entebbe to Jinja will take 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The state of the art boat has a refrigerator inside for refreshments, air conditioners, TV Screens for entertainment and a lot more sophisticated accessories on it.
Ajarova officially launched the boat by breaking a bottle of Champagne infront of the vessel. She also urged Ugandans to use this boat as a way of supporting tourism.
Revelers at the launch were treated to a mouthwatering buffet that left no stomach empty, it was also a chance to sip on some champagne.
