Man killed in accident on Jinja Road

ACCIDENT 

WAKISO- On a busy Monday morning, traders at Kireka market started their day normally. If you have used Jinja road frequently especially around Kireka market, you then know how congested and busy traffic is around there.

A fatal and horrific accident occurred early this morning a few meters away from the market.

The accident that left one man dead, involved a motorcycle, taxi and a truck that was parking on the roadside.

According to Patrick Kwesiga, a traffic police officer who arrived at the scene immediately, the motorcycle was carrying two passengers. The speeding motorcycle was coming from Kireka and was heading to Kampala.

At the same time, the taxi was coming from a nearby petrol station trying to join the road to proceed to Kampala.

The taxi driver out of shock rushed and crashed into the boda boda hence crashing one of the passengers against the truck that was parking on the roadside.

Because of the high speed that precipitated the accident, the passenger was torn severely leaving his intestines out. He died on spot.

Police swung into action and took the body to KCCA mortuary for post mortem. The other injured persons including the boda boda rider, second passenger and the taxi driver were rushed to hospital immediately.
