If you are a pensioner, who worked with the ministry of health, grab your national identity card and rush to the ministry headquarters in Wandegeya, Kampala for verification.

According to a notice issued by Dr Diana Atwine, the permanent secretary at the health ministry, pensioners are also required to carry copies of appointment letters and confirmation letters.

"The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, informs all pensioners on the Ministry of Health pension payroll and the general public that the Ministry will carry out a physical verification exercise of all pensioners," she said.

The exercise, which started on February 18, will end on April 31.

"Those who will not be verified by April 31, 2019, shall be deemed non-existence and will be deleted from the payroll with effect from July I, 2019 without notification," Atwine added.

A list issued by the health ministry indicates that there are about 854 pensioners but all these must be verified.

For pensioners who died, Atwine said, family members are required to avail copies of authentic letters of administration.
