Customers win prizes worth millions from Housing finance bank campaign

KAMPALA - Over 30 people walked away with gifts worth millions of shillings in the recently concluded Housing Finance Bank (HFB) ‘Christmas comes early -season 2' campaign.

At a morning event held at the bank headquarters in Kololo, Kampala on Friday, clients from across the country won house hold items such as; home theaters, fridges, blenders, microwaves, grill pans and TV sets.  

The grand prizes, which were three plots of land worth sh15m, sh10m and sh10m were won by Gerald Seguya who lives in the diaspora, Gregory Sakari, a teacher in Mukono district and Gilbert Azibo, a staff at HFB and overall best performer, respectively.

Other clients won school fees worth sh1m each.

While officiating over the awarding ceremony, Michael K.Mugabi, the bank's managing director said the campaign is intended to drive the bank's promise to provide a complete and competitive value composition for the customers while leveraging on the bank's core mortgage and housing finance business.

In attendance were customers, staff and the bank's development partners more so, Sema properties, National Housing  and Universal Enterprises that offered some of the land and gifts.

"This campaign gives an opportunity to HFB clients to win plots of land as well as a range of prizes," Mugabi noted.

He added that this proposition also includes exciting offers such as discounts on properties through the bank's partnership with various developers, more household items and a grand prize of an apartment for one lucky customer.

Judith Owembabazi, head of marketing and product development said that this campaign had been running from September 2018- January 2019. It was stretched to accommodate the diaspora customers who usually come back home during the festive season and stay over through to January.

To qualify for the competition, the customers had to take up loan facilities during that period of time and later, a ruffle draw was held at the head office early this week.

"Furthermore, the bank can now offer up to 100% financing on mortgages, which is yet another initiative to offer excellence in our customer service at the bank," she highlighted.

Meanwhile, at the same event, the outstanding staff in terms of performance in various departments was also rewarded with cash vouchers of up to sh5m.

"We have decided to appreciate our staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that the customers get what they desire," Owembabazi said.

It was at the same event that Mugabi's confirmation to the office of managing director was announced. Initially he was serving in the acting capacity.

Peace Kabunga, head of mortgage and personal banking and also the acting executive director said that HFB is the bank that promises and delivers.  

"Customers who picked loans between August 2018 and January 2019 stood a chance to win great prizes. Many came and benefitted from home loans, business loans, personal loans and mortgages, among others," Kabunga revealed.

She recalled that in 2017 the same campaign was run and saw customers walk away with many items including a flat in Najeera, a Kampala suburb.

"As a bank we enable financial independence and home ownership hence deepening financial inclusion," she emphasised.
