Police recover kidnapped baby

The Police tracked the culprits number 0782683955, which they were using to call Atuhaire asking for money. As they were still tracking, the signals started showing callers were in Nyendo-Masaka.

Greater Bushenyi Police have tracked and rescued a two-year-old kid that had been kidnapped from his parents' home in Cell B, in Zone, located in Ishaka-Bushenyi Municipality, in Bushenyi District.

The Police Criminal Investigations spokesperson, Vicent Sekate ,tells New Vision, that Isaac Mukiza, 2, was allegedly picked from his mother Claire Atuhaire,33, while she had gone to Kizinda market.

He adds that upon realising that her son had been kidnapped, Atuhaire reported the matter at Kizinda Police where a case file vide CRB.174/2019, was opened.

Hours later, the purported kidnappers started making endless calls to the kid's mother demanding for a sh1m ransom.

The investigating officers immediately headed to Nyendo where they continued with their search for both the kid and perpetrators.

After hours of tracking and searching, the Police on Tuesday at around 4:00pm nabbed the suspects and also recovered the victim who had been put under hostage inside a guest house in Nyendo-Masaka.

Sekate identified the suspects as Expedito Tuhaise 20, a resident of Mashenga, in Muhito Parish Kitagata sub-county, in Sheema district and Francis Mwetwale, also from the same area.
