SC Villa has a great opportunity to turn around their jaded season when they take on Vipers at St Mary’s stadium, Kitende today.

They face a daunting challenge since Vipers have gone 34 games in the league without defeat. The Jogoos who are desperate for a win have gone five league games without a win.

Villa’s coach Douglas Bamweyana has, however, promised his club faithful a positive result.

“We desperately need a win for our fans to have a smile. The good thing is that we know how they (Vipers) play,” stated Bamweyana whose side is in relegation danger as they lurk in the basement with 14 points.

A win for Vipers (37 points) will help to reduce on points gap between them and leaders KCCA (40).

“We are going to play a better-prepared side. Villa has a rich football history and we respect them. But we are ready for them,” Vipers coach Michael Ouma also warned.

Matches between the two clubs have always turned out to be tense.
