Veteran entertainer Suisseman Ngoy passes away

Born October 3, 1939 in the Belgian Congo, he is survived by a wife and one daughter

Veteran singer and dancer, Suisseman Ngoy, has passed on aged 79. 

Ngoy breathed his last at his home in Lungujja, Rubaga division in Kampala on Saturday morning. According to his family, he died of Prostate Cancer.

Ngoy will be remembered for introducing and popularising Zairean contemporary dances in Kampala in the 1960s and 1970s.

Besides performing with various bands, Ngoy was a mainstay performer at the then New Life Night Club aka Ewa Kamulu in Mengo.

He also featured prominently on the then Uganda Television (UTV), with his agility and fluidity earning him many admirers.

Born October 3, 1939 in the Belgian Congo, he is survived by a wife and one daughter. Veteran singer Martin Manyenga is his brother.

Although Ngoy was both a singer and dancer, it was his dancing skills earned him a lot of fame and endeared him to teenagers especially at the height of the era of teen dances era in the 1960s and 1970s.
